Thinking of calling the Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex your home? You’re not alone. In fact, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, you would be joining approximately 143,000 other residents in the past year who’ve decided to make the move to DFW, making it number 1 in the U.S. for growth in terms of sheer numbers (not percentage). The Census Bureau revealed that in July of 2015, the DFW population stood at 7,089,888, and just over a year later had jumped to 7,233,323, which equates to about 393 new residents per day in 1 year. Billionaire Mark Cuban touts Dallas as one of the top spots in the world to start and grow a company, saying “great companies start here, great companies grow here, great investments happen here, there’s no shortage of opportunities in Dallas, TX.”
The explosive growth of the Dallas-Fort Worth area is not new news, though, as it (along with the other 4 big metro areas in Texas) has consistently been in the top 10 fastest growing metroplexes for years. However, the expansiveness of DFW seems to be hitting a whole new level. Out of the 100 fastest-growing counties in the U.S. from 2015 to 2016, 9 surburbs of DFW made the list, including:

- Denton County – Ranked No. 28 nationally for county growth.
- Kaufman County – Ranked No. 36 nationally for county growth.
- Ellis County – Ranked No. 50 nationally for county growth.
- Collin County – Ranked No. 68 nationally for county growth.
- Hood County – Ranked No. 73 nationally for county growth.
- Parker County – Ranked No. 79 nationally for county growth.
- Wise County – Ranked No. 85 nationally for county growth.
- Hunt County – Ranked No. 98 nationally for county growth.
Why is such growth occurring in Dallas? Much of it can be attributed the large corporate relocations to the area because of limited taxes and an overall good business environment.
